A Norwegian couple was hospitalized after crashing into a church wall in Hirtshals on Tuesday afternoon, while attempting to avoid a collision with a truck. The incident occurred at the intersection of Lillehedenvej and Margrethevej, prompting a response from North Jutland Police.
Police reports indicate the accident happened around 2:21 PM. The couple allegedly failed to yield to the truck, leading to their evasive maneuver.
To avoid the truck, the couple accelerated and attempted a right turn, resulting in their vehicle striking a wall belonging to a nearby church. They were subsequently transported to Hjørring Hospital for medical attention.
While the couple received treatment, authorities reported that their injuries were not life-threatening. Despite the impact with the wall, there was no immediate risk of structural collapse to the church property.
