A 39-year-old man is facing charges of repeatedly raping a 13-year-old girl at a primary school in Aarhus, Denmark. The man appeared in a preliminary hearing at the Court in Aarhus on Wednesday.
East Jutland Police confirmed that the man is accused of multiple instances of rape against the girl, allegedly occurring over several months beginning in September 2024.
The charges against the man include both rape and sexual assault, with some incidents reportedly taking place in the school’s toilets.
While most of the alleged rapes occurred at the school, some also took place at the girl’s home.
Under Danish law, intercourse between a person over 22 and a child under 15 is considered rape.
In court, the 39-year-old man pleaded not guilty. He admitted to having intercourse with the girl twice, but denies knowing that she was under 15 years old.
The court hearing was held behind closed doors, so no further details about the case have been released. The circumstances of how the man and the girl met remain unclear.
