An 18-year-old man has been jailed and charged with multiple offenses, including gaining unauthorized access to women’s bedrooms and assaulting a woman with a hardball pistol. East Jutland Police confirmed the arrest and charges.
The man is also accused of making death threats against the principal of his former school.
The initial incident occurred on March 29 when the man allegedly assaulted a 19-year-old woman with a hardball pistol. The woman was able to defend herself and sustained only minor injuries before the man fled the scene.
Three months later, on June 29, two women, ages 19 and 20, awoke to find a masked man in their room. The man fled after being discovered, but the 19-year-old woman sustained a hand injury and was bleeding. The 18-year-old man was arrested later that day.
Although initially released due to insufficient evidence for immediate detention, he was rearrested on Thursday. A judge ordered him to be held in custody for four weeks during a preliminary hearing on Friday, and he is currently being held in a psychiatric ward. The man denies the charges.
Police Inspector Brian Voss Olsen emphasized the seriousness of the case, acknowledging the insecurity it has created in the local community and for the victims. DNA evidence collected from his home during the June arrest led to his rearrest and subsequent detention.
The investigation also revealed that on December 20 of the previous year, the man allegedly threw a stone through the principal’s car window and left a note with the words “die pig” inside. He is now charged with making death threats against the principal. The police investigation is ongoing, including further interrogations and mapping the suspect’s movements.
