Ukrainian Drone Attack Repelled Over Moscow Region and Other Russian Territories

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that air defense systems destroyed 41 Ukrainian aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) overnight across multiple regions, including three over the Moscow region. The incident marks another instance in a series of drone attacks targeting Russian territory.

According to the Ministry of Defense, a total of 12 UAVs were shot down over the Bryansk region. Additional drones were intercepted over the Kaluga region (5), Bashkortostan (5), Belgorod region (2), and Orel region (2). Single UAVs were destroyed over the Volgograd, Kursk, Ryazan, Tambov, Tula, and Samara regions. Furthermore, six drones were reportedly shot down over the Black Sea.

The statement from the Ministry of Defense did not specify the exact locations within the Moscow region where the three drones were intercepted. Authorities did not impose restrictions on the operation of metropolitan airports following the incident, and Moscow officials have not issued any statements regarding the drone attack.

In the morning hours, between 8 AM and 10 AM, Russian air defense systems destroyed five additional drones over the Belgorod and Kursk regions.

Prior to this incident, UAVs were also shot down in the Moscow region on Friday night. A more significant drone attack targeting Russia occurred on the night of October 7, and a separate UAV raid on Moscow took place between September 22 and 23, during which more than 40 drones were destroyed over the capital region.
