St. Petersburg is bracing for deteriorating weather conditions, including dense fog, starting November 1. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for St. Petersburg issued a warning Friday evening based on information from the Federal State Budgetary Institution “North-Western UGMS.”
The warning anticipates fog in some areas of the city, reducing visibility to 500 meters or less. The “yellow level of weather danger” is in effect from 5:00 on November 1 to 3:00 on November 2.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations has issued recommendations for both drivers and pedestrians due to the potential for reduced visibility. The fog is expected to be particularly dense near the dam due to increased humidity over the open water.
Looking ahead to the long weekend, St. Petersburg residents can expect mostly cloudy and rainy weather. Despite the precipitation, temperatures are predicted to be warmer than usual, exceeding the average by 5-6 degrees Celsius.
