Russia Expands List of EU Representatives Banned from Entry

Russia has broadened its list of European Union representatives barred from entering the country, according to an announcement made on October 31 by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This action comes in response to the EU’s adoption of its 19th package of sanctions against Russia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that these “hostile actions of the European Union” will not impact Russia’s policies.

The expanded list includes individuals from several categories. Employees of law enforcement agencies, members of parliament from EU member states, and members of the European Parliament who supported anti-Russian resolutions and bills are among those now banned.

Also included are individuals involved in the creation of a “tribunal” against the Russian leadership, as well as those who initiated the confiscation of Russian state assets to benefit Ukraine. The list also targets figures accused of “Russophobic rhetoric.”
