Two teenagers died after falling through the ice in Novosibirsk’s Dzerzhinsky district. The bodies of the 12 and 11-year-old children were recovered from a body of water behind the V.P. Chkalov House of Culture on October 16th. An investigative team is working to determine the circumstances of the tragedy.
In other news, a woman died following an accident in the Ordynsky district on October 16th. The Investigative Committee for the region confirmed the death and is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Earlier, a fire engulfed a residential building on 2nd Pereulok Rimskogo-Korsakova Street on the left bank of Novosibirsk. Firefighters responded to the scene at 23:50 on the night of October 17th. The fire, which covered 600 square meters, started on the second floor of the wooden house and spread rapidly.
Meanwhile, former head of the “Sportivnaya” metro station client has been accused of receiving a particularly large bribe and was brought to court from a pre-trial detention center. The Central District Court of Novosibirsk has arrested Andrei Schastlivy, the former head of the municipal enterprise “MetroMir,” for the next two months. He is accused of receiving a particularly large bribe from a representative of a company among the major contractors. Dmitry Klirosov, co-founder of LLC “Akvi Tekhnolodzhi,” has been named as the alleged briber in the case.
