A substation in the village of Veshkaima, Ulyanovsk region, was attacked by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) resulting in a fire. The incident occurred on the night of October 17-18, according to the regional control center, involving four drones that struck the substation and caused two explosions.
The fire that broke out after the attack has been contained, and the substation’s operation has been restored. This was announced by the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region, Alexei Russkikh, on his Telegram channel.
There were no casualties reported as a result of the incident.
Following the attack, Deputy Governor Vladimir Razumkov was dispatched to the location. Special services are continuing their work at the site to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack.
Governor Russkikh has directed that a district meeting of the commission for the prevention and elimination of emergencies be held to address the situation and prevent future incidents.
