Woman Detained for Abandoning Baby in St Petersburg

A 35-year-old woman has been detained in St. Petersburg for allegedly abandoning her baby near garbage containers. The incident occurred in the Moscow district, prompting a criminal investigation.

Yana, the suspect, was apprehended on Pilots Street, and in addition to the charge of abandoning a child, she faces a protocol for petty hooliganism.

Surveillance footage captured the mother pushing a stroller near garbage containers on Moskovsky Prospekt before abandoning it. A janitor discovered the cold infant the following morning.
