LADA Iskra Assembly Relies on St. Petersburg Suppliers

AvtoVAZ’s new LADA Iskra assembly in St. Petersburg involves several local suppliers, despite initial production goals being scaled back. These companies provide essential components and have navigated significant ownership changes and financial fluctuations in recent years.

The collaboration between AvtoVAZ and the St. Petersburg Automobile Plant aims to integrate local suppliers to reduce logistics costs and risks. This partnership is crucial for the production of the new LADA Iskra model.

Key suppliers include Alta Severo – Zapad, providing power windows; SMC Vsevolozhsk, supplying stamping blanks; and Reflog LLC, which provides refrigerant. NK Rosneft supplies gasoline for the LADA Iskra.

Alta Severo – Zapad, a company with 18 years in the automotive component market, has supplied various brands assembled in Russia with headliners, door trim, and power windows. The company experienced ownership changes and financial challenges but has shown signs of recovery.

SMC Vsevolozhsk, a long-time player in the automotive industry, specializes in forging, pressing, and stamping. Reflog LLC, known for supplying refrigerant, has seen an increase in public procurement contracts and maintained stable revenue and profit.

PO LUZAR LLC, an official supplier of AvtoVAZ since 2010, equips the entire LADA brand family with aluminum radiators. The company underwent significant ownership changes and has since experienced substantial growth in revenue and profit.

Piterform, a stamping parts manufacturer, became a structural division of Peterform LLC after being a subsidiary of Austrian Cosym Holding AG. The company faced financial difficulties but recovered through cooperation with Avtozavod AGR.

Despite these established suppliers, the St. Petersburg Automobile Plant plans to assemble only 4.5 thousand Iskras in 2026, a reduction from the initially promised 10 thousand units, likely due to demand.
