A man in St. Petersburg has been sentenced to 10 days of administrative arrest after being caught drinking alcohol and smoking in public and then attempting to flee from law enforcement.
The incident unfolded on the evening of October 29th at a bus stop on Sizov Avenue. Police officers observed the man consuming alcohol and smoking a cigarette in a public area, which is prohibited.
When officers approached the man and requested that he accompany them to the police station, he initially refused before agreeing on the second request, immediately after which he attempted to escape.
As a result of his actions, the man was issued two administrative protocols: one for violating the ban on smoking and drinking alcohol in public places, and another for disobeying a lawful order from a law enforcement officer. The man admitted guilt to both charges.
