The 12th season of “The Voice. Kids” is currently showcasing the final stages of its blind auditions. Mentors are nearing the completion of their team selections and actively engaging in preparation for upcoming rehearsals.
This season is notable for the introduction of the double chair and new mentors. The most captivating aspect for the audience has been the performances during the blind auditions, with approximately 40 participants having already auditioned.
Sofia Shishikina, a 10-year-old from Moscow, has been singing since the age of four and a half. Her passion for singing was recognized by her grandmother, who enrolled her in music school without her mother’s initial knowledge. The family relocated to Moscow to further Sofia’s musical pursuits.
Sofia dedicates her time to various musical activities, including choir, solo singing, and beatboxing. She is also a record holder in Russia as the youngest girl creating music on a loop station and has started writing song lyrics.
During her blind audition, Sofia performed “Awesome” in traditional Austrian attire, incorporating yodeling. This performance was exceptionally well-received, eliciting laughter and positive reactions from the judges. Sofia explained that she chose yodeling to showcase her technical skills and surprise the audience.
Presnyakov and Podolskaya were the first to turn their chairs for Sofia, followed by Garifullina, with Bilan turning last. The judges praised Sofia’s flawless performance and technical abilities.
After a request for another song, Sofia sang “Mother Earth” with the audience and ultimately chose to join Presnyakov and Podolskaya’s team. Sofia stated that her decision was based on her intuition and expressed her excitement about learning from them.
Jacqueline Alekseeva, a 7-year-old from Moscow, has been singing since the age of two. She performs in a musical choir and works in a production center and released her first song in the spring.
