Venko Filipche, President of the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM), has expressed strong support for Atso Velkovski, the SDSM mayoral candidate for Lozovo, emphasizing Velkovski’s proven track record of developing the municipality. During meetings with Lozovo citizens, Filipche highlighted Velkovski’s previous term from 2017 to 2021, during which he implemented projects that benefited the citizens and advanced the municipality.
Filipche pointed to specific achievements during Velkovski’s prior mandate, including the construction of a new municipal building, the establishment of a kindergarten, and the renovation of the local school and park. He asserted that Lozovo experienced vision and progress under Velkovski’s leadership, which resonated positively with the citizens.
In contrast, Filipche criticized the incumbent mayor’s performance, alleging a lack of meaningful action for the municipality and its residents. He claimed the current administration failed to initiate any capital investments and neglected to complete approximately 50 projects that were already underway.
Filipche expressed confidence that Lozovo citizens recognize the stark difference between a mayor who actively works to improve the municipality and one who does not. He emphasized Velkovski’s commitment to open and transparent governance, aimed at enhancing the quality of life for all residents, including young people, pensioners, farmers, and other groups.
Furthermore, Filipche noted that SDSM has garnered support from coalition partners and an independent candidate from the first round of elections for the second round in Lozovo. He expressed gratitude for their backing and stated his belief that victory in Lozovo is within reach.
