In commemoration of World Stroke Day, the Minister of Health, Azir Aliu, visited the Clinic for Neurology, emphasizing the critical role of preventative measures in combating stroke. The visit coincided with an open day event at the clinic, where citizens were offered free preventive examinations and expert consultations regarding stroke risk factors.
The open day aimed to educate the public about stroke, a leading cause of death and disability worldwide, and in the country. Dr. Jovan Bozinovski, Director of the Clinic for Neurology, highlighted the importance of raising awareness about the disease, its symptoms, and available treatments. The clinic offered examinations using the new carotid artery doppler in cooperation with the Macedonian Neurological Association.
Minister Aliu praised the clinic’s infrastructure and the director’s efforts in organizing the event and optimizing internal processes. He emphasized the importance of preventive healthcare, noting that days dedicated to preventive examinations are vital for early symptom recognition and promoting healthier lifestyles.
This year’s World Stroke Day motto, “Stroke is treatable,” underscores the importance of timely intervention and treatment. The open day event served as a platform to educate the public about stroke prevention, symptoms, and available treatments.
