Maksim Dimitrievski, the mayoral candidate for Kumanovo and leader of the ZNAM Movement, has pledged to continue working diligently to solve the city’s problems and improve the lives of its citizens. Speaking at a public gathering in the Goce Delchev settlement, Dimitrievski emphasized the importance of continuity and collaboration to achieve Kumanovo’s potential.
Dimitrievski highlighted his past achievements, including stabilizing the municipality’s finances after inheriting significant debt. He contrasted his approach with that of his opponent, accusing him of failing to bring order to a public enterprise despite being given the mandate to do so. Dimitrievski asserted that progress requires hard work and engagement with the people, not empty promises.
He emphasized his commitment to working with Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski to transform Kumanovo into a leading logistics center in the Balkans. Dimitrievski positioned himself as a local resident who understands the needs of the community, distinguishing himself from those he described as privileged individuals who believe positions are inherited.
Brane Petrushevski, an MP from VMRO-DPMNE, echoed Dimitrievski’s call for unity, framing the election as a choice between progress and a return to past failures. He urged voters to reject the policies of Oliver Spasovski and those who seek to restore DUI’s influence. Petrushevski called for a decisive victory for Dimitrievski and his coalition to prevent what he characterized as manipulative attempts to regain power.
Boban Nikolovski, President of the Municipal Committee of VMRO-DPMNE, and Ivana Gjorgjievska, President of the Council of the Municipality of Kumanovo, also urged a large turnout in the second round of voting. They asserted that Dimitrievski’s re-election would ensure Kumanovo’s growth, development, and prosperity.
