Large-Scale Electricity Theft Discovered at Skopje Hotel

A four-star hotel in central Skopje is under investigation for allegedly stealing electricity. Elektrodstribucija teams discovered the illegal connection during a technical inspection on “Luj Paster” street, posing a significant fire hazard.

The investigation began during an inspection of a residential building adjacent to the hotel. Inspectors found three burned cables resulting from excessive load, indicating an illegal connection.

The cables were immediately disconnected due to the imminent risk of fire. Further inspection revealed that the hotel had reconnected to one of the illegal cables.

Elektrodstribucija reported that their teams faced obstruction while attempting to enter the hotel premises. The incident has been documented and reported to the Ministry of Interior, citing illegal connection to the power grid and creating a general danger of fire.
