Energy as a National Priority and State Strategy

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski emphasized the importance of energy as a national priority and state strategy at the opening of the 14th International Forum on Energy and Sustainable Development in Skopje. The forum is scheduled to last until October 30.

Mickoski highlighted that hosting this global discussion in Skopje demonstrates the potential for the regional energy future to be built in North Macedonia. He stressed the opportunity for the country to demonstrate its impact through a clear vision, determination, and leadership. He also acknowledged the role and vision of the Minister of Energy in driving progress and ensuring North Macedonia keeps pace with developments in the sector.

According to Mickoski, energy stability is not merely an economic concern but a crucial element of national security. He noted that global instability underscores the necessity of energy independence for economic freedom, stating that without such freedom, development, stability, and dignity cannot be achieved. He affirmed the government’s strong support for the reforms initiated by the Ministry of Energy and emphasized the link between political action and long-term vision.

The Prime Minister articulated a clear vision to prepare the country for future challenges, including climate change, technological advancements, and global risks. He conveyed that sustainable energy is not a matter of political preference but a moral imperative towards future generations.
