A 57-year-old Amsterdam council employee is suspected of involvement in at least 95 violent incidents across the Netherlands. Jim B, who worked in Amsterdam’s debt collection department, allegedly sold confidential information to two accomplices.
The two alleged accomplices, Rishi K, 41, and Gillian H, 34, are described as “information brokers.” They are suspected of passing the data to criminal groups responsible for bombings, shootings, and other attacks.
The trio is allegedly indirectly connected to a wide range of violent acts. These acts include 36 explosions, 14 threatening letters, eight homes shot at, two attempted murders, and one kidnapping. The attacks occurred throughout the country.
B had access to address, vehicle registration, and resident information. He reportedly shared data hundreds of times a month. Investigators believe B received both cash and bank transfers for the information.
B communicated with his contacts via the encrypted messaging app Privnote. He lives in Almere and worked in Amsterdam’s debt collection department. Prosecutors stated there was no evidence that B acted under pressure. His lawyer claimed he “made mistakes under pressure from a group.”
All three suspects remain in custody, and the next hearing is scheduled for January 14.
