Woman Hits Animal Presumed to Be a Wolf in Oksbøl

A woman driving near Oksbøl, north of Esbjerg, struck and killed an animal believed to be a wolf early Friday morning. Police have been notified and consider the incident unintentional.

The collision occurred around 7:30 a.m. According to Ole Aamann from the South and Southern Jutland Police in Esbjerg, no further action will be taken.

The carcass is now in the possession of the Nature Agency in Blåvandshuk. Pictures have been sent to Kent Olsen, the head of Wolf Monitoring in Denmark at the Natural History Museum in Aarhus, for confirmation of the animal’s identity.

This incident follows the death of a wolf cub earlier in October on Vejers Havvej in Vejers Strand, located a few kilometers west of Oksbøl.
