A woman driving on Vejers Havvej in Vejers Strand, Varde Municipality, struck and killed a wolf on Thursday evening. The South and Southern Jutland Police confirmed the incident.
The accident occurred shortly after 8:00 PM. The woman immediately contacted the police to report that she had accidentally killed the animal.
Responding to the call, the police then notified the Danish Nature Agency, whose wolf patrol was dispatched to the scene. The patrol recovered the deceased wolf from the roadside.
According to reports, the woman remained in her car after the collision because she observed other wolves in the vicinity and felt unsafe exiting her vehicle.
