Frederiksberg Forum to be Renovated and Transformed into Sportsforum

The Frederiksberg Forum will be renovated and transformed into a multi-purpose hall, now to be known as Sportsforum, following a unanimous decision by the Frederiksberg Municipal Council. The project, aiming to preserve Frederiksberg’s cultural heritage, has secured funding in the budget agreement for 2026, with renovations expected to commence in 2027 and a planned opening in 2029.

The renovated hall will be divided into two sections: a municipal area dedicated to sports facilities and a martial arts center, and a privately funded area for sports and cultural activities. The municipal portion will encompass at least 5700 square meters of sports space.

Mayor Michael Vindfeldt (S) highlighted the importance of sustainability and community in the decision to transform the iconic building, which had previously faced the threat of demolition. The initiative reflects Frederiksberg’s commitment to preserving its cultural heritage while creating a modern, multi-functional space for sports and cultural events. The private section is planned to house activities such as padel tennis, climbing, events, and conferences.
