Aphaca, a band formed in 2017, received the prestigious P3 Prize at the P3 Guld music event held at the DR Koncerthuset. The band also secured the P3 Listener’s Hit award for their song “En drøm om et menneske” (A Dream About a Human).
Hosts Pelle Peter Jencel and Julie Rahbek announced the awards. The jury praised Aphaca’s pervasive and intuitive musicality, strong songwriting, and developed poetic sense for articulating the experience of being young. The jury added Aphaca provides a huge hug and generous amounts of love for what unites people.
Aphaca consists of four high school friends led by Rumle Kærså. They were formed at Det Frie Gymnasium (The Free High School) in Copenhagen. Despite having only released one album, they have released several singles and two EPs.
The band’s rise to fame includes a debut performance at Roskilde Festival last summer, playing to a packed Arena tent. They also sold out 50,000 tickets for their 2026 concert in Parken in just four days.
At the awards ceremony, the P3 Talent award was presented to singer Mille, accompanied by 100,000 kroner (Danish currency). The show, hosted by Julie Rahbek and Pelle Peter Jencel, featured performances by Aphaca, Mille, Soleima, Von Quar, and Artigeardit. Artigeardit won the P3 Prize in 2023, and rapper Lamin won it last year.
P3 Guld is an annual music award show organized by Danmarks Radio P3. The P3 Listener’s Hit is chosen by P3’s listeners, while the other two prizes are selected by a jury.
